I designed for A Midsummer Night’s Dream in 2021, my second realized production with Mary Moody Northen Theatre as a costume designer. With a relatively minimalist scenic design, our 1950s production of Midsummer relied on the costumes to convey the time period. I designated specific color palettes and textures to the various social classes and worlds within the play in order to demonstrate their unique characteristics while maintaining a consistent aesthetic for the overall show.  

Unlike many other productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, we did not double cast Oberon/Theseus and Titania/Hippolyta. As the costume designer, this awarded me great freedom to create unique, elaborate costumes for each of the characters without having to worry about the logistics of multiple quick changes.
